"Thank you, Physician Han," the elderly man called Li Ran, said.
Han Zhenting smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry. I cannot help your wife to recover from her illness fully."
"No. You have been a great help," Li Ran said. "It has been six years since the treatment began. Although there are times when my wife's sickness would relapse, I can see that her condition has gotten better."
Han Zhenting sighed. He spoke a few more words with man and came out. Once he saw his granddaughter, the fatigue on his face disappeared. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be busy with your wedding preparation?"
Princess Lingchen smiled. "It was because I was too busy with the preparation that I took a day off. Or else, I might get too tired and stressed out before the wedding."
Though the Princess had a smile on her face, and her tone was light, Han Zhenting could sense that his granddaughter was not happy as she seemed. He knew that Princess Lingchen was worried about her upcoming wedding.
However, Han Zhenting also knew that no matter what he said to her, his granddaughter will not change her mind. Her stubborn attitude was something that she inherited from her father.
This marriage was something that Princess Lingchen had decided on. Since she had made her decision, Han Zhenting thought that there was nothing he could do but to wish for her happiness. As long as her husband treated her well and fair, Han Zhenting would be satisfied.
"Since you have come here, let your grandfather give you a health check-up," Han Zhenting said.
Princess Lingchen watched her grandfather helplessly. "I'm fine. A few days ago, Mingyue had come to the palace and gave me a health checkup. Grandfather, you don't have to worry too much."
"I am your grandfather. If I don't worry about you, then, who should I worry about?"
Princess Lingchen laughed. After a while, she decided to give in and humor her grandfather. Only when Han Zhenting was sure that there was nothing wrong with his granddaughter's condition, did he let out a breath with relief.
Just as the grandfather and granddaughter were chatting, Han Zhenting's assistant came to inform that Mingyue and the others had arrived, and it seemed that something had happened in the receiving hall.
The two walked out of the room and headed to the hall. Once they entered the hall, Han Zhenting and Princess Lingchen exchanged a glance.
In the center of the room, the elderly woman who received treatment from Han Zhenting earlier was crying her heart out with her husband beside her. The old couple was looking at Yang Yun and Mingyue's friend with longing.
"What happened?" Han Zhenting asked.
Jiang Mingyue looked up. "Grandfather, you're here." she turned to her cousin and smiled. "Sorry to keep you wait."
"It's alright," Princess Lingchen said. Then, she looked at the old woman. "What happened to her?"
Mingyue turned to look at the old couple. "It seemed that the old couple that Second Brother found years ago was Li Ran's parents. Back then, the son that went missing was Li Ran, or rather, Li Hua."
Soon, Mingyue started to tell the story of how Li Hua's side of the story after he went missing.
Li Hua was the one who first recognized his parents. At that time, the elderly woman had woken up from her slumber, and her husband wanted to bring her back home. As they were heading out, Yang Yun and the others walked in into the hall, and they met. Li Hua stared at the old couple for a few seconds before he unconsciously called 'Mother.'
Once the elderly woman heard his voice, she turned around. The two of them stared at each other for a while before the elderly woman broke into her tears. She started to walk over to Li Hua and called over her son.
For a second, the old Li Ran thought that his wife's illness relapsed until he looked at the young man who resembled the young version of him.
However, there was another strange thing. According to the old couple, their son had been missing for ten years, and when he went missing, Li Hua was eight. However, the Li Hua in front of them now was twenty-eight. After all, he had stayed in the other world for twenty years.
In the end, Yang Yun made a trip to Lu Wei's temporary residence, personally to ask his advice on this matter. Coincidentally, Chief Ye was around. Once she heard of the situation, she was intrigued and decided to tag along.
