Across Time and Space 265 It's Time

Earlier that morning, everyone gathered around the foothill to sent both Mingyue and Yang Yun off.

After they exited the vehicle, Mother Lin pulled her daughter and hugged her for a long time. Because she knew that Mingyue would return to her world today, the Lin couple could not sleep a wink. In the end, they showed up with black and puffy eyes.

"Mom, don't cry. Or else, I wouldn't know what to do," Mingyue tried to coax her mother.

Though Mother Lin tried to stop her tears, she found it difficult to do so. Mingyue was a kind and lovable kid. She had raised Mingyue for six years and naturally had a lot of affection towards her daughter. But that morning was the last day she will be able to see her daughter.

"I won't cry," Mother Lin said. She wiped her tears and forced a smile.

When the time comes, the Lin couple had no choice but to let Mingyue go. Yang Yun stood at the side as the Lin's family bid Mingyue with their last goodbye.

Once they departed, Yang Yun held his wife's hand tightly to give her strength.

Since they were going up the mountain, Xue Yi Ming, Lin Tian Yu, and Li Ran had offered to accompany them up.

"How's the weather forecast?" Xue Yi Ming asked after a few minutes of hiking.

"It should be sunny all day," Li Ran said. "They predicted that there was going to be full moon today. Since the moon will be closer to the earth, it will appear bigger than usual."

Yang Yun tilted his head towards the sky as he listened to his friend's conversation. Because his wife was currently pregnant, Yang Yun intentionally slowed down his pace to make it easier for her to walk.

If he were given a choice, he would postpone their return due to Mingyue's condition. However, Chief Ye had made it clear that today will be the last day he could make a trip, or else, he will have to wait for a few more years.

Mingyue has been away from her family for a long time. She missed her family so much that she did not want to postpone the date.

"How much longer until we arrived?" Xue Yi Ming asked.

"We should arrive at the camping site before the sky gets dark," Li Ran said. The last time Yang Yun went up the mountain to look for the location, Li Ran was the one who accompanied him. Therefore he knew a bit about the trip.

After hours of walking up the mountain, the group arrived at the camping site. Since Xue Yi Ming and the others will be staying a night in the hill, they put up a tent and went to gather for some woods.

Once everything was settled, Mingyue stayed with her sister to talk while Yang Yun stayed with the guys. Only a few hours left, and Lin Tian Yu was reluctant to let her sister go.

However, meeting and separating was not something you can avoid. When the time comes, everyone followed after Xiao Mi towards the location.

After they arrived, Yang Yun quickly gathered a few big stones and put it around the Shadow Grass area. Then, with a chalk in his hand, Yang Yun drew a few symbols to form an array.

Li Ran stayed by Yang Yun's side as he wanted to learn a bit about forming the portal. He had wanted to learn about creating a portal to another world for years to the point that he was obsessed with it.

It was only a few years ago that his obsession faded. Li Ran had accepted that he will stay in this world and that there was no chance for him to find his parents. After all, he had left his world for too long. Who knew if his parents were still alive?

However, he was still curious about how the portal was formed.

Once everything was ready, Yang Yun went to Xue Yi Ming's side and thanked him for his help. Since Yang Yun arrived in this world, Xue Yi Ming was the one who helped him to adjust. If it was not for this friend, Yang Yun did not know how long it will take for him to find his wife again.

"It's time," Yang Yun said.

Mingyue lifted her head to look at the sky. Because they were up in the mountain, the moon appeared bigger today. The forest was quiet, and not even the sound of an insect could be heard.

Mingyue went to her sister's side and gave her a last hug and reminder to look after their parents. Then, she went to Yang Yun side.

Because they're going to return to their world, both Yang Yun and Mingyue had changed their clothes into something appropriate.

Yang Yun grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around his wife's body. Then, he turned to his left and called "Xiao Mi."

Xiao Mi meowed. He walked towards Yang Yun and paused to look back at Xue Yi Ming. Then, he ran towards Xue Yi Ming and rubbed his head on Xue Yi Ming's legs.

Xue Yi Ming smiled as he watched the black cat. He crouched down and patted Xiao Mi on his head. "What's wrong? You're reluctant to part with me?"

The black cat climbed over Xue Yi Ming's shoulder. He raised his paw and patted on Xue Yi Ming's head. Then, Xiao Mi licked the man's face and let out a long meow.

"Xiao Mi said thank you for your hospitality and that you should take care," Mingyue translated.

Xue Yi Ming laughed. He patted carried Xiao Mi to and hugged the black cat. "Xiao Mi, you should take care too. Don't forget to look after your masters."

The black cat put his paw on Xue Yi Ming's cheek and looked at him in the eyes. Then, he let out a long meow before he jumped down and went to Mingyue's side.

"Xiao Mi said," Mingyue hesitated. "He said, since you're married, you should hurry and have kids. Then, you would not be so lonely since he will not be by your side."

Xue Yi Ming looked at the black cat with surprised. Then he laughed before he glanced at his wife by her side.

At the center of the array, Yang Yun began to recite the words that Chief Ye had taught him. The moon shone brightly over the open space area. The Shadow Grass began to glow.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew past them. Because the wind was too strong, Xue Yi Ming had closed his eyes.

However, because of the wind, a rock that Yang Yun had used to form an array rolled over.

Afraid that it will affect the array, Li Ran picked up the stone and put it back to its position.

Once Xue Yi Ming opened his eyes again, Yang Yun, Mingyue, and Xiao Mi had disappeared from the center. A few seconds later, he realized that Li Ran, too, had vanished.
