"You want to continue and protect him, Your Highness?" Jiang Xiao Tian asked.

The Princess nodded. "I have promised that I will give him my protection in exchange of keeping my secret. I don't intend to go back on my promises. As long as Prince Lu Wei did not say anything about my condition, continue to protect him." Princess Lingchen said. She rapped her fingers on the surface of the table and continued. A small smile appeared on Princess Lingchen's lips. "However, I have a feeling that Prine Lu Wei will not return to Qian Rong. Princess Lingchen watched in silent as Jiang Xiao Tian left her palace. Her thought were on the Prince of Qian Rong. She understood that the Prince did not want to implicate her or Da Cheng. After a few days of stalling, Jiang Xiao Liang decided to pay his old friend, Yang Yun, a visit.
Back then, when the two of them were newly recruited into the army and was assigned into Jiang Xiao Xian's camp, their relationship was pretty good. Jiang Xiao Liang and Yang Yun were best friends and rivals at the same time. But, their relationship started to drift once they were assigned into different camp, and went further apart once Yang Yun started to date Mingyue.
The Jiang family is a military family with too many male successors. It has been a while since the Jiang family had a daughter. When Mingyue was born, she was so cute and small. She was softer than the rough Jiang's brothers. Therefore, the brothers doted on Mingyue so much. They would allow her to do anything she wanted, except for joining the army.
As Jiang Xiao Liang was only two years apart with Mingyue, naturally, he was the most closest to their little sister. Jiang Xiao Liang would be the first person Mingyue would look for whenever she ran into trouble. He would be the first person Mingyue would search for whenever she wanted to share her joy.
However, everything started to change once Mingyue dated Yang Yun. Jiang Xiao Liang was no longer the first person Mingyue would look for when she had something to share. Of course, Jiang Xiao Liang would be bitter.
Because of this, Jiang Xiao Liang Yun would always pick a fight with Yang Yun when they saw each other. For Jiang Xiao Liang, Yang Yun had stolen his sister's affection from him. When Mingyue decided to marry Yang Yun, Jiang Xiao Liang was worried that Mingyue would soon forget him. Therefore, Jiang Xiao Liang was against it. But as he saw how Mingyue was happy to be with Yang Yun, Jiang Xiao Liang's heart softened.
In the end, Jiang Xiao Liang had to accept that, Yang Yun was the best for Mingyue. He knew Yang Yun and trust that Yang Yun would not do anything to hurt his sister.
Jiang Xiao Liang snapped out of his thought as someone announced that they have arrived at the Yang's household. Soon, a servant received him and took him to Yang Yun's quarter. As he approached closer, Jiang Xiao Liang met Yang Yun's sister, Yang An, who was coming from Yang Yun's room.
"Big Brother Jiang?" Yang An was surprised to see Jiang Xiao Liang. After all, it has been a while since she had last seen him.
Jiang Xiao Liang looked at the girl before him and frowned. When he started to realize the identity of the girl, his lips curved into a small smile. "You are Yang An?"
Yang An lowered her gaze and slowly nodded.
"It has been years since I last saw you. It looks like you've gotten prettier," Jiang Xiao Lisng teased.
The girl's cheek turned slightly red. She bit her lips and her shyness slowly dissipated. "Big brother Jiang, are you here to look for my brother?"
