Jiang Xiao Tian quickly recovered and speak, "I'm Jiang Xiao Tian, a Commander under Princess Lingchen's command," he lied.
Prince Lu Wei raised a brow. "Did the Princess sent you here?"
"No. But, I have a few questions that I need to ask Your Highness."
Prince Lu Wei thought over it for a moment before he invited Jiang Xiao Tian to sit. The Prince walked to a side table to prepare some tea. When the tea was made, he poured the tea into two cups and handed one to Jiang Xiao Tian. "Please. Have a taste."
"Thank you. It is an honor to be able to taste the tea brewed by the Prince of Qian Rong." Jiang Xiao Tian bowed and turned his body sideways as he drank the tea.
"I'm only an idle Prince in Qian Rong. I have too much free time, and thus, I decided to learn a little bit about tea." Prince Lu Wei paused as he took a sip from his tea. "Now tell me, Commander Jiang, what is the purpose of your visit today?"
Jiang Xiao Tian placed the cup carefully on the table. "Prince Lu Wei, I heard about your agreement with Princess Lingchen."
The Prince smiled as he heard it. "Commander Jiang, I don't know what you're talking about."
Jiang Xiao Tian chuckled. Prince Lu Wei had agreed that he would not mention anything about the Princess' condition. And right now, Jiang Xiao Tian was sure that Prince Lu Wei was playing his part as someone who knew nothing about it.
"I am not interested with the agreement you made with the Crown Princess," Jiang Xiao Tian said. "I'm much more interested in your knowledge on Shadow Grass."
Prince Lu Wei touched the cup with his fingers. "I might tell the Princess a few stories. But those are merely stories that I heard from my late concubine mother when I was a little boy."
"Your Highness, you may have heard that Physician Jiang is not only a physician to the princess, but she is also the princess' cousin," Jiang Xiao Tian smiled. "And you might have guessed from my name that I am related to Physician Jiang."
"What is your relationship with Physician Jiang?"
"Physician Jiang is my youngest sister."
Prince Lu Wei averted his gaze from Jiang Xiao Tian. "Back then, when I was badly injured during the Spring Hunt, Physician Jiang was the one who healed me. I owe her my life." He took a deep breath and continued. "I know that if I did not encounter Princess Lingchen and received emergency treatment from Physician Jiang, I will die. Speak. What do you wish to know? I will try to help you if I can."
"Your Highness, are you familiar with the Nanlin Tribe in Sui Country?"
Prince Lu Wei felt his heart skipped a beat. "Nanlin Tribe?" He poured himself another cup of tea to buy some times and calm down. "No. What about the tribe?"
"They are also called as the lost tribe in Sui Country," Jiang Xiao Tian said. He observed the Prince's action as he spoke. Being the head of His Majesty's Secret Agent, he knew how to read a person through their expression and body language.
Although Prince Lu Wei did his best to cover it, Jiang Xiao Tian could still notice the Prince's uneasiness when he mentioned the Sui Country's lost tribe. Jiang Xiao Tian could confirm that Prince Lu Wei knew something about them.
"A long time ago, the Nanlin Tribe was famous for their knowledge on medicine, poison, and some supernatural stuff," Jiang Xiao Tian continued. "After they offended the Imperial Family of Sui Country, the tribe was massacred. A few of them escaped, and rumor said that they escaped to Qian Rong."
Prince Lu Wei let out a soft chuckle. "Commander Jiang, you did not seem like someone who would believe in the supernatural."
"I don't. However, even if I refused to believe in it, my sister did vanish into thin air during the solar eclipse in front of others," Jiang Xiao Tian said. "There are witnesses."
Prince Lu Wei stared at the man before him and knew that the man had done his investigation on him and the missing tribe. However, there was no way for Jiang Xiao Tian to connect him to the lost tribe.
After a few seconds of silence, Prince Lu Wei heaved a long sigh. "I may have heard of the stories before. But I'm not so sure. After all, it has been a long time."
"Your Highness, I will be honest with you," Jiang Xiao Tian moved his body closer and spoke in a hushed voice, "As I mentioned, the Nanlin Tribe was famous for their knowledge on medicine and poison. We are looking for the Nanlin Tribe to find a cure for the Princess."
"Do you not obtain the Shadow Grass? The Shadow Grass is known as a miracle herb that can cure any poison."
"I know." Jiang Xiao Tian hesitated as he thought over what he can or cannot say to the prince. After a while, he said, "We are running low on the medicine. Therefore, we need to find the tribe to treat the Princess' body."
Prince Lu Wei turned away from Jiang Xiao Tian's pleading gaze. "I'm sorry. I can't help you to find the tribe."
Jiang Xiao Tian closed his eyes. He had expected that the Prince would not help them to seek for the lost tribe. However, to hear the Prince's direct refusal could still disappoint him.
"However, I can help you to cure the poison inside the Princess' body."
Jiang Xiao Tian's looked at the Prince with wide eyes. "You know how to find the Shadow Grass?"
"No. But I may have another way."
