Chapter 285: 285. Bankai...

Bankai... the final form of a Zanpakuto. It draws out the true core of it's owners power.

Five different auras suddenly raged the battlefield. The other Emperors couldn't help but take a step back, shock evident on their faces.

The ones most shocked were the Saint and Devil Emperors. They were clearly winning but all of a sudden their opponents started to get stronger. Who would accept that? It's already a miracle that these people could match them but now they got even stronger? Were the Heavens fair?

The surroundings went silent all of a sudden. The raging wind and energy disappeared. However this calmness only intensified the shock they were feeling. Five figures stood before their respective opponents, their aura was completely different.

The pressure they emanated caused their opponents as well as the onlookers to go stiff.

Hisoka looked the same as before. All the cards around him disappeared, only a pair of violet daggers were in his hands but... the Saint Emperor standing opposite to him had a drop of sweat roll down his cheeks.

He couldn't sense him! He could see him but couldn't sense him! If he closed his eyes and relied entirely on his soul sense then he would undoubtedly die!

Zoro had a complete make over. His figure was completely clad in a black trench coat with red markings all over it. The silhouette of a beautiful lady stood behind him causing his opponent to step back. He felt as if he was facing two peerless swordsman instead on one.

Ryu however was the same. He simply undid his last seal, releasing his true power. This simple action inturn scared the hell out of his opponent. Just by standing before him, he could feel a crushing force upon his shoulders. He didn't dare step forward.

Madara stood calmly facing his opponent. The wind slightly blew causing his hair to dance along with it. The Uchiha Fan disappeared leaving the Nine Magatama sword. His opponent sensed something about his armour but couldn't figure out what. He did however see a triangle formed by three sets of magatamas on his chest.

Esdeath's Rapier was now completely blue. The light shined on it creating a marvelous sight. However her opponent didn't find this sight beautiful, he had to keep far way from her, an inch closer and he would have been frozen to death.

' Just what the hell happened!? How could they change like this? '

Before they could take in what was happening Ryu and the others attacked. This time the roles were reversed, the five Emperors went defensive.

Hisoka quietly appeared behind his opponent. Losing sight of Hisoka the Saint Emperor panicked he retreated towards the safest direction he sensed.

As soon as he moved a horrible pain assaulted his side. Looking down a long wound appeared there.

' Where the hell is he!? '

He couldn't sense him! Vision is the only sense he could use now but once he lose sight of him he would be in danger. Conjuring a shield around him he activated the array. The only thing he could do now was to hold on until the array is completely activated and escape.

" Hey~ where are you going? "

A creepy voice softly rang near his ear. It was so close that he felt as if thousands of bugs were crawling under his skin. Startled he immediately turned around and found noone. He looked all around him but couldn't find Hisoka.

Squeezing every drop of energy he had he fortified the shield covering him. Just as he was about to step into the array a face appeared infront of his face. It was so close that he could feel his breath.

Horrified he tried to get away. But no matter how much he tried he couldn't move. Feeling warmth in his chest he looked down. A violet dagger stuck out of it, blood died his clothes. Slowly he could feel his body go weak.

" Hehe~ I had fun. So... bye bye~~ "

The other four Emperors turned around just in time to see this sight.

' Run! '

All four of them immediately went towards the array. If they could just get there they could escape.

" You dare turn your back against me? "

Madara's eyes spun with six different coloured magatamas. His figure appeared before his opponent startling him. Those eyes drew his attention, all he could see was a world full of fire, an apocalyptic world reeking of destruction. Shaking it off he charged into Madara with full force.

The spear glowed with a terrifying sharpness. The scene he expected didn't appear, his spear struck Madara's chest and came to a sudden halt. His palm was split open from the rebounding force, blood died his hand and he looked at Madara in shock.

' My strongest attack didn't even scratch him! '

Holding the spear in his hands he looked into Madara's eyes and asked with a shaky tone.

" What the hell are you? "

Grinning Madara said

" Your death."

A strong power started to surge from his chest. Like intertwining snakes six streaks of different coloured energy went through the spear and covered the Emperors body. The spear was reduced to nothing, no even ashes remained.

The power of True flames were horrifying. Especially when such a flame was used by someone like Madara and especially if six flames were combined and used flawlessly.

Covered by flames the man screamed at the top of his lungs. He tried to use his energy but it was immediately burned by the True Flames. Amulets and talismen were used up one by one trying to shield him from the flames but all of them were burned off. Horror and despair filled his eyes, slowly the last wisp of his life was burned away.

Watching his opponent burn away Madara sealed his sword and went down. Only ash remained floating in the wind.

The other three didn't even care for their companions. Only the thought of escaping rang through their minds.

But would it be that easy?

Just a hair breath away from the array all three of them went stiff.

One of them was just about to step in the array. All he needed to was to place his foot and he would be safe. From under the sole of his feet ice started to spread, in a split second it completely covered him. Esdeath stood behind him and softly tapped her fingers. The ice broke and scattered in the air.

The fate of the other two weren't any different. Both of them had their head cuts off. Zoro and Ryu stood not far form their opponents, sheathing their swords.

Green Emperor fighting against Devil Hei saw this scene and was shocked. Those were five Emperors, five Immortal Emperors. The backbone of every sect and five of them fell here!
