A Teen For God Chapter 3

Teens! …sends out sparks to many brains . Well, we are just some people between the ages of thirteen and nineteen who are too big to be called kids, yet are too small to be classified as adults . Finding a name for us becomes a problem as we aren't exactly boys and girls anymore . I guess we would be called "kiddults" . We are this group of special and unique people who have a lot of agile blood in us and vibrant spirits with a bit of pure, naive hearts that long for full-flesh experience which lead us to series of adventures in life whether terrible, grievous or light . Most times, we do not care about the results, what happens to those around us or who is hurt . We just wonna have some fulfilling, interesting and exciting fun . After all, it is our time so let us enjoy it to the fullest, right? Now, to explore some of our traits, let's make it fun, yea? If I say something that you agree with, just holla a 'Yep, Yep!!' Okay? Okay, let's go .

A lot of times, we teens could become really secretive and feel like, "Huh, what the heck! Mum and dad are old school . They do not even know what is new these days so they should let me be . " No doubt a lot of people think this way (I confess even I too sometimes) but problems begin to arise when we act in obeisance to our thoughts . Oops, I'm already going too deep and deviating . Pardon . Now, back to our facts about teens .

Fortunately or unfortunately, during teenage, most, perhaps all teens begin to experience puberty ( which is why teens are called adolescents ) . As we know, the guys get more macho and in many cases try to express it in their coarse voices . They begin to experience secondary sex characteristics like cracking of the voice into deeper tones of bass or even more, thunder; production, broad shoulders and muscles . Wow!

For the ladies (not girls!), they begin to develop some molehills on their chest (breast) monthly period flow, more feminine shape (the figure begins to form for the whistles) and character . The guys and ladies begin to grow hair in the pubic region, armpit and for some guys, on their chin . Naturally, when these happen, we begin to feel grown-up (which we actually are) and become more sensitive to stimulus or things around us .

Teens do not like to be embarrassed or belittled like kids in public: We are not! Yep, yep!! In a bid to satisfy us, we need not be rushed, maltreated or mishandled . All teens unconsciously crave to be followed closely, carefully and gently . Every teen not only wants someone older who he/she can look up to for help, someone who understands us and will give solutions to problems based on reality and not fairytale . When we find such a person, all of our trust is put on that person and as a result, even our darkest secrets and thoughts are known by that person . Such a person could be a parent, friend, or even stranger . If the person is right, a good foundation is certain for a launch into adulthood . However, the consequences might be very grave if the reverse turns to be the case! Better imagined than experienced .

There is a great disaster when we are let down by the ones we really trust . Sometimes, it has a psychological effect on us which makes us adopt some ideologies in life e . g . never trusting any older human being again, trusting only in inanimate things, animals and the elements of the earth…

Every one of us teens have role models and mentors we aspire to be like whether they are good or bad, there is someone we are following and looking up to . Yep, yep!!

Evasive,

Extravagant,

Naughty,

Agile,

Giddy,

Energetic &

Rather

Stubborn…

It is my prayer that after reading this piece, we would become:
