The Princess was back from her archery training . She was drenched in sweat and dust since it was a hot day . She was training outside the Royal grounds accompanied by Chaitanya -her horse . She was walking into her chamber . Her mother, the empress Padmini was waiting for her . Seeing her mother, Samyukta gave a respectful bow and greeted her ' Good evening mother, 'she always followed the Royal protocol . Padmini received her daughter with a hug . She looked at her tired countenance . Even covered with dust and sweat, Samyukta exuded a graceful charishma .
Padmini called out for the palace maids and asked them to assist Samyukta in cleaning up .
The Princess was lead into her bathing chambers . The maids oiled her supple skin with oil and applied a fragrant bathing paste made out of herbal ingredients . They washed her long black curly hair, her willowy body and dressed her in delicate silks .
They dried her hair and adorned her hair with fragrant flowers . Then she went to meet her mother . Padmini was pleased with Samyukta's appearance . Truly Samyukta was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen .
Padmini always felt that they should find a suitable husband for Samyukta from a royal family and marry her off . But the emperor thought otherwise . He was very sure that only Samyukta could carry out the rule after him and further glorify the name of Chandra dynasty .
Padmini held Samyukta's hand and lead her out into the Royal garden . She asked her 'Samyukta, what is your opinion about my nephew, Prince Teja Maurya? 'the princess understood where her mother was going with this . She smiled and said 'mother, is this about what I think it is? ' Padmini smiled and said 'my child, you know how I wish for you to get married . . your elder sisters are Long married and they are leading a happy and prosperous family life . . your elder sister is about to bear a child, she is coming here soon . . how about you . . what do you wish to do . . you want to rule Magadha after your father?
