After not making a peep for an entire day, the Demonic Clan finally moved into action. Ao was still the commander, the only difference with last time being the time of the assault. Where they usually stormed the beaches under the lighting of the moon, they now charged forth in broad daylight.

The Celestial Soul Masters had had a full day to rest. Adjusting their mental state and taking Ling Xiao's medicine, they were quickly restored to peak condition. When they recalled how the Demonic Clan had turned their comrades into Undead two nights ago, they couldn't help but feel a mixture of grief and indignation boil in them. As such, their attacks were even wilder than before.

Both parties had only just started fighting, but the bodies on both sides were already stacking up. Most of them died in an all out effort to take the opponent down, even at the cost of their own lives. There were even a few Celestial Soul Masters who seemed to have lost their minds. They charged into a large pack of demonic beasts and exploded their soul chains. Red and orange lights exploded out, pools of blood forming on the sandy beach.

"Why are they so crazy today?" Liu Yue, no, even Liu Xintang felt his heart leap out of his chest as he watched the battle. The Demonic Clan usually went all out, sacrificing themselves. Why did the roles seem reversed today?

Ling Xiao expressionlessly observed the intense battle unfold on the beach. In stark contrast, the usual low profiled Shen Xuan suddenly became very excited. "Good! Kill them to your heart's content!"

Ling Xiao looked at Shen Xuan who resembled a monkey. "Since you're in such a good mood, why don't you join them?"

"Haha!" Shen Xuan said, "Since Elder Ling feels that way too, all the more reason why I should join the fight!"

Ling Xiao didn't even have time to respond. Shen Xuan had already jumped off the city walls and charged head first into battle. A cold smile played on his lips. Alright Shen Xuan, I'll let you pretend. Keep up your act!

When Shen Xuan joined the battle, the Celestial Soul Masters only got more excited. They flocked around him, forming a human bulldozer as they swept away all demonic beasts. The Demonic Clan was given no other option than to retreat back to the sea.

Shen Xuan got more aroused as he fought, pouncing at one enemy after the other. "Brothers, these demonic beasts killed our brothers. Let's avenge them right here and now!"

Li Yuanchong frowned as he watched the Celestial Soul Masters charge toward the sea without a shred of rationality in them. They'd clearly left the protection of the Celestial Soul Ward. But there wasn't a thing he could do to stop them, lacking the power to appeal to their rationale. Shen Xuan personally led the battle, so how could the rest not follow?

"Don't go!" Liu Xintang roared. But to his surprise, no one listened to his command.

Ling Xiao was very quiet. He didn't find it shocking in the slightest. "They've been drugged," he finally said.

Liu Yue was dripping in cold sweat as he stammered, "H-how can it be?"

Ling Xiao coldly smiled. "No wonder the Demonic Clan attacked at this time of day. As it turns out, they were waiting for a traitor on our end to drug our breakfast."

Liu Xintang's expression changed as by thunderclap. "What drug is it?"

"It's a form of stimulant powder targeting a person's mental state. As long as the individual uses their soulforce, they will lose all rationale and only know how to kill." Ling Xiao coldly looked at the father-son pair. "Other than you two, there shouldn't be anyone else who can drug the meals."

Liu Xintang was first surprised, then came the fury. "Elder Ling, don't spew venomous slander! How can we children of the Liu Family do such an utterly heartless thing?!"

Ling Xiao coldly laughed. "Only the two of you know if someone in the Liu Family has done such things. I have to catch up with them now. If I don't, there'll be nothing left of our brothers." With that said, he jumped down the city walls and rushed off behind the rest.

To cross the sea, the thousands of Celestial Soul Masters stepped on their soul chains. They flew after the demonic beasts swimming away, crushing all those within reach to death.

Soul chains had another function. It could be enlarged and used as a flying tool. The only difference was that it consumed more soulforce than tools crafted purely for flying.

Ao was furious, unwilling to settle with defeat. He struggled with the Celestial Soul Masters above the water. Only when he spotted Ling Xiao flying over on his broom did he continue retreating.

A sneer flitted past the corners of Ling Xiao's lips. So my predictions were rather accurate. It seems as though he's really prepared to take my life. Since it's like this, I'd better play along a little while longer! He feigned excitement as he roared out loud, "Brothers, charge!"

The Celestial Soul Masters were on fire as they ruthlessly fought, doing all they could to charge onwards. They managed to catch up to the last group of demonic beasts on an enormous island. After setting foot on land, they retrieved their soul chains and raised their weapons, continuously hacking away at the demonic beasts.

Li Yuanchong felt a deep restlessness in his heart. He turned to ask Ling Xiao for his opinion, but to his surprise, Ling Xiao had actually disappeared without a trace. When had he left their side? Li Yuanchong's first response was to blurt out, "That guy has fled! It's dangerous!" He just about half understood Ling Xiao. Liu Yue knew he couldn't hide the truth from his father any longer. He admitted with a sullen look, "Father, don't blame me. I was forced to…"

"Stop, stop, stop! Our Liu Family is done for!" Liu Xintang had an ashen look on his face as he fiercely said, "I won't ask you why. Take your older sister and leave this place right now. Go back to the clan's estate. I'll deal with the aftermath!"

"Father-"

"Scram!" Liu Xintang held back the urge to send Liu Yue flying with a kick. "Work hard and don't make your father lose face anymore!"

Tears were swirling in Liu Yue's eyes as he sniveled, "Your child is unfilial. Your child vows to avenge you someday!" At that, Liu Yue fled as fast as he could, not to be seen again.

Liu Xintang watched the island on the other side of the sea. He steeled his heart and flew over.

Ao maniacally laughed as he watched the pale-faced Celestial Soul Masters. "Let's see where you're going to flee to this time-" All of a sudden, his expression paled. He saw white like the Celestial Soul Masters. He threw his head up to the skies and roared, "Where's Ling Xiao? How is it that he's disappeared?!"

Shen Xuan surveyed his surroundings in search for Ling Xiao. But to his astonishment, he couldn't find him anywhere!

"Kill them all!" A hint of ruthlessness showed through Ao's rigid face. "Don't leave a single one alive!"

"Brothers, stay your ground. I'll go back and call for reinforcements!" Seeing that things were taking a turn for the worse, Shen Xuan quickly retrieved a flying shuttle. He jumped onto it in a hurry and fled!

"Huh!?" The Celestial Soul Masters look on muddleheaded as their leaders fled and disappeared without a trace. They lost the will to fight in the face of a surging tide of demonic beasts. They were about to be massacred!

"Aaahhhhhh!!!" Blood-curdling screams rang out. The whole island turned red.

Li Yuanchong led Yang Chao and Yue Mingming through the vast tide of demonic beasts. They spared nothing as they fought the enemy at close quarters, opening up a path wide enough for three. "Quick! Escape!"

Ao had a cold expression on his face. "You want to flee? It won't be that easy!" Whoosh! He launched himself down from the hill he stood on, shooting towards Li Yuanchong like an artillery shell.

Numerous demonic beasts were hounding Li Yuanchong. He'd just shook them off when he realized that another fierce wave was descending on him. "Aaahhhhhh!" Li Yuanchong's expressions changed vividly. He was already very powerful amongst orange ranked cultivators, but he didn't even have time to dodge the attack of a blue ranked cultivator.

"Am I going to die here…?" Li Yuanchong helplessly shut his eyes, silently accepting death.

Bang! Another intense wave sent Li Yuanchong, Yang Chao, and Yue Mingming flying.

Li Yuanchong immediately opened his eyes, only to find a crater right before him. Hundreds of corpses belonging to demonic beasts lay strewn about. This was clearly the result of that second wave he felt.
