Chapter 942: Chapter 655: Such a Loss!_2 Chapter 942: Chapter 655: Such a Loss!_2 “We owe you and the Tribunal Fleet a great debt this time, Mr. Duanmu. Are you sure… you don't want any compensation?”
“I would like to, but you would have to be able to afford it.”
Facing the old captain's inquiry, Duanmu Huai chuckled. In fact, the old captain didn't know that Duanmu Huai had already received his compensation.
It was the design schematics for the black hole bomb.
When the detonation of the black hole bomb had failed earlier, Aikute had scanned the entire device and linked it to the central computer of Exelion for data sharing. It was at that time that Duanmu Huai had secretly kept the design for the bomb.
This was quite the toy; it would be relied on in the future when dealing with the Strict Compliance Protocol and the Void Swarm, among others.
But the old captain seemed not to have noticed this, simply nodding his head, after all, Duanmu Huai was not wrong. Nearly ten thousand warships of the Tribunal had been lost in this battle, and even if all human powers in the entire Solar System were sold collectively, they likely could not cover the loss. Of course, this was thanks to the fact that all those warships were piloted by puppets; if they were manned by humans, then the Tribunal really would have been ruined.
With that, the two parties temporarily parted ways, the fleet continued their search for the next colonial planet while Exelion and Steel Bastar joined their team. Duanmu Huai then led the Tribunal Fleet's remaining forces back to the Boundary God Star System. He ordered Maria and Kukulu to repair and resupply the entire fleet while he started searching for the next “target.”
Since the battle with the Drow Elves, Duanmu Huai had realized the requirements of the “Resetter.”
Firstly, it should be a race that had developed its own culture, and preferably one with a guardian god. It made the fight convenient, and there would be a lot of Divine Power Experience to gain.
Of course, considering the Tribunal's code of conduct, the race should ideally be an alien species.
Better yet, an evil race.
Hmmm… as it stands, there weren't many races on the Faelun Continent that met these criteria. Drow Elves were one, but they had already been wiped out by Duanmu Huai. Then there were the Gray Dwarves… but Duanmu Huai didn't feel like returning to the Dark Region anytime soon, it was too dark and had nothing fun about it.
Beyond that, it was tough to find any.
Of course, it wasn't difficult to find purely evil races, such as goblins, kobolds, orcs, giants, etc., which all belonged to the evil alignment. But the issue was that they didn't really count as a civilization. Drow Elves had their own heritage, technology, and cities, which is why they were considered a civilized race. But races like kobolds, giants, and orcs were often like nomadic tribes that roamed around raiding and plundering and didn't even have their own cities. What sort of civilization was that?
It's like a pirate captain trying to establish a Pirate Nation, no serious authority would take you seriously.
“If all else fails, I'll just have to head to the Bottomless Abyss and Barto Hell.”
Duanmu Huai scratched his head, considering that demons and devils indeed counted as civilized races, as well as evil forces; fighting them would be enjoyable, right? Though Subspace creatures weren't that easy to handle, they could still serve as a warm-up before the fight against Evil Gods. After all, the territory of the Four Gods was far more annoying than Barto Hell and the Bottomless Abyss.
In fact, Duanmu Huai preferred to fight with gods from the Chaos Evil Camp, for a simple reason.
The Chaos Camp was more easily assimilated and absorbed by the Willpower of the Old God, perhaps because of some similarities; this was also why Rose was so easily overthrown by Duanmu Huai. If it were a god from the Lawful Camp, it probably would not be that easy to assimilate them with the Old God's Will.
Moreover, he still hadn't settled his divine position for the Corrupted Foil; it looked like he would have to search in that world a bit more.
After making his decision, Duanmu Huai began assembling a team.
Ogis and Gavi were definite picks. Since last time when he went to the world of Cthulhu without Ogis, the little treasure had been holding a grudge, so this time Duanmu Huai had to bring her along. As for Gavi–though he had no clue what was on her mind, she seemed quite obedient for the time being, so Duanmu Huai decided to bring her along as well.
As for the others…
“Eh? Is there a world with dragons and underground cities?”
After hearing Duanmu Huai's introduction, Mary's eyes sparkled.
“So you mean, that world also has dwarves, magic, elves, and deities?”
“Yes, of course, it does.”
“I want to go, please make sure to take me!”
As a literary young woman born in Fog City, Mary grew up reading Tolkien's novels, and now she was extremely excited, raising her hand immediately. A fantasy world was one of her absolute favorites, after all!
“Then you're in… Ann, how about you?”
“We're going too! It's not often we get to relax and get away, I'm bored of staying on the warship all the time!”
“You're just itching for a fight, aren't you?”
Duanmu Huai saw right through Ann's pretext, and the latter just wrapped her arm around Greiya, giggling.
“Be careful, the magic in that world is quite powerful… well, it's good for you to take a look. After all, the stone from another mountain can be used to polish your own jade.”
“Awesome!”
Hearing that, Ann raised her hands high, cheering.
“Then it's decided, the rest of you will be on standby… Aikute, command the fleet, and Mia, as usual, take care of the Tribunal's internal operations. Contact me through Audrey for anything.”
Duanmu Huai made his decision quickly, and the girls were excited.
“A new world, huh? I wonder if we will be escorting a ring to a volcano…”
“Why would you escort a ring to a volcano?”
Hearing Mary's musing, Ann blinked curiously and asked.
“Ah, because a volcano can destroy that ring.”
“It's just a ring; couldn't you just break it?”
“That wouldn't do, that ring is very powerful, and ordinary Strength can't shatter it.”
“And a volcano can? Is that volcano more powerful than my magic?”
“This…”
Faced with Ann's curious expression, Mary was at a loss for words.
“Uh… that's just how the story is set…”
Ann looked puzzled, while Mary quickly looked to Duanmu Huai, trying to change the subject.
“Anyway, Mr. Duanmu, what are we going to do after we get to that world?”
“Well… first of all…”
“Yes, yes!”
“We will need a piece of land for ourselves.”
“…eh?”
