Chapter 924: Chapter 647 Stone City_2 Chapter 924: Chapter 647 Stone City_2 “Destroyed?”
“Yes, burned to the ground! Not a single Drow Elf was left inside!”
“Such a thing happened?”
Hearing this, other Underworld Dwarves also gathered around. The Underworld Dwarves and the Drow Elves usually kept to themselves, but the reason for this was because the Dark Region itself was very dangerous and complex. Unless ordered by the Spider Queen herself, the Drow Elves would not casually cross the underground passages to launch an attack on the cities of the Underworld Dwarves.
However, the Underworld Dwarves never liked their dangerous and cunning neighbors. The news of the destruction of a Drow Elves' city surprised them too.
Of course, it was more of a celebration.
“This is a good thing!”
“I don't think this is a good thing. We all know how terrible the Drow Elves are. If they've been destroyed, what if the attackers turn on us?”
“I think we should send someone to investigate what exactly happened… at the very least, we need to figure out who attacked and destroyed the Drow's city.”
Soon, the Underworld Dwarves in the tavern were divided into two factions: one raised their glasses, loudly celebrating the destruction of their nefarious neighbors. The other was filled with concern; after all, if someone could destroy a Drow Elf city, the Underworld Dwarves' cities might also face the same danger.
Because this is the Dark Region.
“Thud thud thud thud!!!”
Just then, a series of hurried footsteps sounded, followed by an Underworld Dwarf gasping for air as he pushed open the tavern's door.
“The Drow Elves!! They're heading this way!”
This voice instantly turned the noisy tavern dead silent. The next moment, the Underworld Dwarves quickly left the tavern, and Amelia, Kasim, and Roxia also stood up. They knew of the Drow Elves' brutality and terror. After all, this Underworld Dwarf city had helped them when they were in trouble. If the Drow Elves were indeed planning to attack this city, they had to help.
Quickly, the three of them followed a group of Underworld Dwarves toward the direction of the gate. To their surprise, although Underworld Dwarves were on guard at the entrance, they did not see the expected Drow Elf Army. Instead, they saw a Drow Elf covered in blood–judging by his appearance, he must have been a warrior, now standing before those fully armed Underworld Dwarf Guards, gesticulating and saying something.
Well, it's no wonder the Underworld Dwarves gathered around to watch the excitement. A lone Drow Elf warrior coming to the city of Underworld Dwarves was indeed a rare occurrence.
“What exactly happened?”
Kasim stared at the Drow Elf in confusion, as he could not understand the Drow language. In fact, most of the Underworld Dwarves couldn't either. However, they could all tell that this Drow Elf was terrified; he was frantically pointing and whispering something while looking back over his shoulder in fear, almost as if some terrible monster was chasing him.
“I don't know, but he looks really scared.”
Amelia cautiously observed the Drow Elf and then looked towards the dark passage behind her–where there seemed to be nothing in the darkness.
However, just then, Amelia suddenly heard a voice.
“Found you.”
Almost simultaneously, the Drow Elf seemed to have heard the voice as well. He pulled out his short sword in terror and charged towards the Underworld Dwarves–this immediately startled the surrounding onlookers and guards. However, the Drow Elf barely managed a single step before his head flew off, and his unbalanced body fell to the ground.
Immediately afterwards, a petite figure appeared behind the Drow Soldier.
“Miss Ogis?!”
Watching the slight figure, Amelia let out a cry of surprise, clearly, the one who appeared there was a girl with long silver-white hair, dressed in a black Western-style dress, delicate and adorable like a puppet —- Amelia, of course, knew who she was.
However, Amelia soon realized she had guessed wrong.
“Ogis?”
Hearing the name, the silver-haired girl twirled her short sword in hand and stared at Amelia displeasedly, it was then that Amelia noticed, although the girl looked very similar to Ogis, their auras were entirely different. Ogis always gave off a quiet and obedient impression, but this girl radiated a defiant sense of detachment.
“I'm no Miss,” said the girl.
“You're Ogis's sister?”
It had to be said, this answer also took Amelia by surprise.
“Correct, you are… ah, you are the ones the master mentioned who ventured into the Dark Region?”
“Is Mr. Duanmu here as well?”
Hearing the silver-haired girl speak, Amelia was somewhat relieved.
After all, Duanmu Huai was quite reliable.
“Right, but the master is currently busy with something and does not plan to travel with you… hmm, it's better for you to return to the surface as soon as possible.”
“Does it have to do with the war against the Drow Elves?”
“That's none of your business now.”
While speaking, the silver-haired girl retreated, snapping her fingers. Then a fire burst forth abruptly, completely devouring the corpse of the Drow Elf, and she drifted backward ghost-like.
“The Dark Region is not peaceful now, I advise you to leave sooner rather than later, or… it would be best to avoid entanglements with the Drow Elves.”
After saying this, the silver-haired girl's figure completely disappeared into the darkness.
Leaving Amelia and her two companions stunned in place, exchanging looks.
“What should we do next?”
Kasim swallowed hard, obviously, Duanmu Huai had also come to the Dark Region, but it seemed… he wasn't as disheveled as they were.
“I'll try harder to find clues about Master Kelben's nephew at the designated spot.”
Although Amelia didn't care about returning to the surface, she had accepted a political mission — Master Kelben had saved Neverwinter City, and as a Knight of Neverwinter, she certainly couldn't run away just because she was afraid, she had to continue.
“But I will heed Mr. Duanmu's words and keep some distance from the Drow Elves… after all, Mr. Duanmu has said so.”
Hearing Amelia's response, the other two nodded in agreement.
At least, past lessons had already taught them never to take Duanmu Huai's warnings lightly.
