Chapter 819: Chapter 578 Proposal Chapter 819: Chapter 578 Proposal After obtaining Duanmu Huai's consent, the Minerva altered its course and, following the Tribunal's guidance, slowly made its way toward the warship.
“It's simply unimaginable…”
The closer they got to the warship, the more astonished the people aboard the Minerva became. After all, saying nothing else about it, the aesthetic of the Tribunal's Imperial Battleship was truly exceptional. The glittering Gothic cathedral, complemented by the huge, dark cannons on either side, looked under the sunlight like a sacred city.
Most people were marveling at the size and splendor of the warship. However, Talia, as captain, had a complex expression. Although she wasn't a scientist by profession, as a captain, she understood just how terrifying the Tribunal's technology was. In the universe, constructing a colossal battleship nearly five kilometers in length was unfathomable, not to mention that it had also entered the atmosphere of a planet. Logically, given the mass and weight of the warship, it should have caused cataclysmic disturbances to the surrounding environment.
Yet there it stood, stable in midair, with virtually zero impact on its surroundings, as if it scarcely existed.
What kind of technology was this?
Talia was certain that ZAFT did not possess such technological capacity, and probably neither did the New Earth Federation… and moreover, they called themselves the Tribunal… frankly, that wasn't exactly a peaceful term.
However, from the recent situation, it seemed they, too, were enemies of the cosmic monsters, meaning there might be some common ground between them.
Perhaps these people were aliens?
As these thoughts spun in Talia's head, the Minerva had already arrived at the side of the Tribunal Warship. Then, the hangar doors opened, welcoming the Minerva inside and docking it at one of the berths in the hangar.
“Captain, what do we do next?”
Honestly, most members onboard were feeling apprehensive and unsure about what to do.
“I'm going to meet with the other party and explain the situation… Everyone else, stand by where you are. I believe they mean us no harm; otherwise, there'd be no escaping them if they did.”
Well, that was true, and no one argued. Faced with such a colossal warship, the Minerva was but a small fishing boat in comparison, utterly defenseless. If the other party had really wanted to do something, they probably would have done it already. Still, it's always wise to be cautious.
“But Captain, you can't go alone…!”
“You're right… so then…”
After pondering for a moment, Talia made a decision.
“Miss Amari, Miss Jiezi, Miss Yaz, please come with me.”
“Huh?”
Hearing Talia's order, the three named individuals were greatly surprised.
“Is this alright, Captain?”
“Yes, if I were to bring only my crew, it might lead to misconceptions and concerns. Miss Amari is a resident of this world, Miss Jiezi met us due to the dimensional shock, and Miss Yaz, you initially boarded the mecha for certain reasons and stayed aboard the Minerva. I think each of you has a different standpoint, which should clearly convey the communication and negotiations between me and the other party.”
The one called Jiezi by Talia was a girl with long brown hair and wearing a dark red uniform similar to that of ZAFT. Her name was Xiaoyuan Jiezi, a native of another world. Before the World Fusion incident, she and her companions had been transported to this world due to a dimensional shock. Initially, they were mistaken as Rogues stealing ZAFT mechas and ended up fighting with a ZAFT squad. It was through conflict that they became acquainted and gradually familiar with each other.
However, the girl's countenance was very gloomy at the moment. Hearing Talia's command, she simply nodded silently, not saying a word.
Yaz St. Claus was a girl with bluish-green twin tails who looked like a middle school student. She was originally a refugee fleeing from war. In one attack, she boarded a mecha that was in the hangar without permission and fought, successfully defeating the enemy and protecting herself and the shelter. However, this also meant she had to stay on the Minerva as a pilot since she had piloted a military secret.
Talia couldn't help but be reminded of someone else and that someone's someone… well, that need not be mentioned further.
Naturally, there was no need to speak of Amari; she was a native of the planet and a person from one of the planet's ruling factions, the Demon Sect.
From a standpoint, these three were not part of the Minerva, so it was certain they wouldn't collude with Talia to keep any secrets. This was also what Talia needed to avoid, given that the Minerva now was a melting pot with individuals from various factions. If she brought only her own people, it would inevitably raise suspicions and unrest.
The reason she chose them over others was that these three were relatively honest and wouldn't act rashly like some others–causing trouble out of the blue. They were going to communicate with the other party, not start an argument. Given the strength that the Tribunal had shown, arguing with them would be detrimental.
Once preparations were complete, the four of them approached the hatch, which then opened slowly — and what they saw next was a girl in a maid outfit, standing there waiting for them.
