Chapter 594: Chapter 437 Practice_1 Chapter 594: Chapter 437 Practice_1 In the following few days, Duanmu Huai didn't immediately set off to find the Little Demon King. Instead, he stayed in the castle, partly to rest and partly… to learn from Ling'Nu.
At first, Duanmu Huai had some fanciful thoughts about this “learning”. For example, he imagined it to be like those after-school tutoring MP4 videos he had seen before, where naive male students were tutored by beautiful female teachers or college girls in their classrooms or bedrooms, teaching them the experiences of life… But when it came time for actual teaching, things were quite different.
Indeed, from Ling'Nu, Duanmu Huai discovered that this was a real science!
According to Ling'Nu, guiding someone to experience the joy of love wasn't simple. The strength, reactions, and even coordination with the partner all mattered. Since everyone's reactions and sensitive areas are different, it required endless practice…
Duanmu Huai was pretty confused throughout the teaching process, totally tossing aside his initial fantasies of close, hands-on instruction.
A few times, he was reminded of his college days when some of his classmates envied the male actors in adult movies who not only get to act with beautiful female actresses but also get paid for it, enjoying the epitome of freeloaders… But in reality, he guessed those actors weren't having a good time either.
Far from enjoyment, it was almost as torturous as a final year project.
At times, Duanmu Huai felt like singing out loud – “You cried and told me, fairy tales are all lies…”
Of course, Duanmu Huai couldn't possibly practice this alone, and Ling'Nu was too advanced for him. Thankfully, he had a guinea pig prepared – Sazel was perfect for the job, and as a demon, her physical condition was better than humans'. Even if things went wrong, at least she wouldn't get killed in the process.
No doubt Sazel was the biggest casualty, but Ling'Nu's thorough teachings and Duanmu Huai's dedicated learning, along with their ever-available “teaching aid”, meant that in less than half a month Ling'Nu announced that Duanmu Huai had graduated.
“You learned really quickly. You've got the basics covered. Now you just need to practice more meow (='w`=).”
After completing his training, Ling'Nu smiled at Duanmu Huai and gave her opinion. Duanmu Huai nodded in agreement.
“Thank you.”
“You're welcome. If you were at the Female Ninja Training Institute, it would be easier since we could practice anytime. But for you… well, you just need to gain more real-life experience.”
With that, Ling'Nu gave a cat-like grin and looked at Sazel, who shivered at her gaze. Even though she was a demon and Ling'Nu was just a human, Sazel could easily freeze Ling'Nu into a popsicle if she wanted. But after being the “teaching aid” for so many days, Sazel had developed a conditioned reflex where just being watched by Ling'Nu made her cold sweat in fear.
“Well, if that's all, I'll go back now…”
After saying this, Sazel jumped off the balcony and disappeared into the sky, regardless of her trembling legs
Watching Sazel take flight, Duanmu Huai turned to look at Ling'Nu, whose smile remained.
“So, what are you going to do next? Are you going to O.J to find the Little Demon King?”
“Probably.”
Duanmu Huai nodded. During this time, he not only was busy studying, but also took some time to explain the Little Demon King's situation to Ling'Nu. Given that Ling'Nu was a female ninja, he thought she'd be better at gathering related intelligence and might know the whereabouts of the Little Demon King.
Unfortunately, Ling'Nu said she didn't currently have any information on this subject.
“Can you come with me?”
“Of course, no problem. Ling'Nu is very familiar with O.J.(-) -)/”
“But aren't you a runaway ninja?”
Duanmu Huai curiously asked Ling'Nu. He rather liked this female ninja. Her outgoing personality and pleasure-seeking demeanor compelled him to compare Ling'Nu to another self-proclaimed ninja… although that wasn't much of a comparison at all.
After Ling'Nu came back to report, Kaname couldn't help but challenge her to a match.
And the result… it was a crushing defeat, a king-versus-bronze-3 scenario which Duanmu Huai couldn't bear to witness.
Ling'Nu claiming to be O.J's top genius ninja seemed to hold water after all.
However, it appeared she didn't really feel any loyalty towards Iga, who trained her. She just left a note behind and came back.
For Duanmu Huai, he actually quite welcomed Ling'Nu. Not to mention the female ninja aspect, even without using her body to lure, Ling'Nu's skills in lurking, and assassinations were top-notch. She easily sniffed out Kaname who had been taught Duanmu Huai's lurking techniques from the Shadow Crow Guard. Though Kaname hadn't mastered it yet, the ease with which Ling'Nu found her spoke volumes about her prowess.
Duanmu Huai was considering whether to recruit Ling'Nu into the Assassin's Court. After all, such talent should not go to waste, right?
Well, getting back to the topic.
Why Duanmu Huai would ask Ling'Nu this question had to do with what Kaname had told him. She had said she was a deserter. She didn't want to stay in O.J, so she crossed Tenmabashi and arrived at Lisas. She fainted on the roadside and was then found by Leia, who was a princess at the time. To repay Leia's act of saving her life, Kaname stayed by her side as her guard.
Kaname left O.J and came to the continent to avoid the subsequent assassinations as per the rules about deserters. Thus, she was unwilling to return to O.J despite Duanmu Huai's invitation. Thankfully, they had Ling'Nu, who was more familiar with O.J.
But Duanmu Huai was still curious. Considering Kaname had been gone for so many years and was afraid to face assassins upon return, wouldn't Ling'Nu face the same threat since she just turned her back on them?
“Of course, there's no problem at all! After all, Ling'Nu is the top genius female ninja. (-) -)/”
Ling'Nu chuckled proudly, so Duanmu Huai let the topic drop.
“Let's prepare and we leave in the afternoon.”
“Understood (~-V-)~”
As Duanmu Huai was taking the vibrant Ling'Nu to lunch, a figure stood silently in a distant forest, gazing attentively at the Tribunal Mansion situated halfway up the mountain.
“So, that's the castle of the Tribunal…”
The figure spoke softly, tone flat, devoid of emotion.
However, another voice soon chimed in.
“The Tribunal, the man who killed Devil King Ji'Er and then killed four demons, even capturing one. Besides him, Seth and Lisas are showing signs of forming an alliance, this continent's balance is being disrupted.”
“I know.”
The short figure stared at the castle, his eyes complicated yet contemplative.
“This is a formidable threat.”
“So, what do you plan to do?”
“… observe for now.”
Saying this, the figure took two steps back.
“I'll think of something.”
With these words, the figure vanished into the depths of the forest, leaving no trace.
After lunch, Duanmu Huai packed up and set off with Ling'Nu, Zhi Jingxiang, and Majeko, riding the Electromagnetic Giant Rhino towards O.J.
“Aren't you going to use that flying castle?”
Sitting atop the Electromagnetic Giant Rhino, Zhi Jingxiang asked curiously. She had joined Seth's war and was naturally curious about Duanmu Huai's Sky City. In her view, if they used it to travel, they could easily glide to O.J in no time. There was no need for this trouble.
“No need.”
Duanmu Huai shook his head at Zhi Jingxiang's suggestion.
“Those things are only used when the Demon Clan attacks humans. Otherwise, I won't use them.”
“I see… I would have liked to take a ride…”
Zhi Jingxiang stretched lazily. Just then, Majeko on the other side hesitated, adjusted her glasses and pointed something out.
“Hey, look there… Is that smoke?”
“Hmm?”
Following Majeko's pointing finger, everyone turned to see black smoke rising in the not-too-distant forest. It clearly seemed amiss. Zhi Jingxiang frowned.
“I remember the Carla girl we rescued earlier lived around here, right?”
“Hmm…”
Upon hearing Zhi Jingxiang's words, Duanmu Huai reflected momentarily and turned to Ling'Nu.
“Ling'Nu, could you scout the situation there for us?”
“No problem.”
Ling'Nu immediately disappeared without a trace–truly impressive.
After a while, she reappeared before the trio.
“Oh no, there's an army fighting with the Carla tribe living in the forest.”
“An army?”
At this, Duanmu Huai raised his eyebrows.
“Which country's army?”
“They're wearing black armor, probably Herman's army.”
“Herman…”
Hearing Ling'Nu's reply, a cold murderous intent flashed in Duanmu Huai's eyes. He hadn't forgotten how Herman had cooperated with the demons to attack Lisas. Now, was Herman attacking Carla here?
This nation truly loves to stir the pot!
With this in mind, Duanmu Huai looked up.
“Alright, let's join the fun then.”
